They way it is written, in first person, is way too choppy. Kostova writes The Historian in epistolary form, primarily through letters from a father historian to a daughter presumably historian. Part of what sends her out eilzabeth the letters she is reading left to her by her father after he vanishes, telling of his travels and investigations into the Dracula legend in the s Eastern Bloc.
